Emancipation

The African Cultural & Development Association (ACDA), now in its 33rd year, proudly hosts its 33rd Emancipation Day Festival on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, Freedom Day, at the National Park in Georgetown. As part of the ongoing International Decade for People of African Descent (IDPAD), this marks ACDA’s 12th celebration during this historic global recognition. Emancipation Festival 2026 promises the biggest cultural celebration yet, featuring electrifying performances by local and international artists, fire dancers, drummers, DJs, and storytellers. Families can enjoy African cuisine, folk games, sports competitions, fashion displays, exhibitions, the Chief Cook-Up contest, and a vibrant children’s fun center. It’s a full day of African pride, heritage, education, and celebration, open to everyone!
